Islamic Perspective on Sex

The author said in his introduction, “Islam acknowledges the fact that one’s sexual desire has to be satisfied. It considers fulfilling this desire a praiseworthy matter, as long as it is done within Shari’ah limits. It is not disdainful to satisfy this desire, nor should it be neglected.” He also said, “In this booklet we will discuss the Islamic method of satisfying sexual desire, and how it can be transformed from a base desire into an act of worship through which a Muslim receives reward.”

This book is designed to draw the readers attention to Islam; this book may even guide one to accept Islam! It talks about sexual desire and the guidelines Islam has placed so that it doesn’t become an obsession. The book directs the reader to a key principle that sexual intercourse with one’s spouse is an act of worship, which one would receive reward for! It also talks about the dangers of sexual desires going out of hand and its dangerous repercussions.

A life of tranquillity, peace and affection is what Islam seeks to establish between husband and wife. Allah () says:
”And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.” (30:21).
